About
AYS is organized to provide a nonprofit, public, educational soccer program with teams at both the recreational and competitive levels. Abington Youth Soccer League (AYSL) is its recreational league; the season runs each fall from September to November, with practices for older divisions beginning in August. Abington Soccer Club (ASC) is its competitive (travel) division, where professional coaches and trainers develop players through three stages: Level 1 Fundamentals (year 1), Level 2 Elevate (years 2-3), and Level 3 Academy (years 4+). ASC membership is a full-year commitment running from August to May or early June, with all practices in Clarks Summit and games and tournaments up to two hours away. While based in the Abingtons, ASC attracts players from all over Northeastern Pennsylvania. The Jim Hatton Memorial Scholarship Fund, established in honor of a longtime AYS board member and registrar who passed away in 2024, assists players in financial need with AYSL registration fees and reversible jerseys.
